Day 6. Morning afforded our last—and most intimate—viewing of a bear that Greg Palmer has known since she was a cub.
Now with two cubs of her own, she allowed us to sit in the boat not 50 feet from her and her young ones.
Mostly, she utterly ignored us. Her concern was focused down the shore, from which a male—the only threat to her cubs here—might approach. She kept glancing and sniffing in that direction, and when she did, her entire face expressed concern.
Following that highpoint in our trip, we headed back out the inlet.
